SCUBAsurero:
The Municipality of Calatagan, Province of Batangas will be celebrating its Municipal Environment Month (MEM) in September 2016 The Monthlong activity is meant to raise the environmental awareness and consciousness of the communities on the importance of the different ecosystem as basic life support system. Anchored on the Ridge to Reef approach, the municipality will also conduct several environment-related activities in collaboration with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Cenro Calaca.

In line with this, the Municipal Mayor’s Office (MO) thru the effort of Mayor Peter Oliver Palacio and the Municipal Environment and Natural Resource Office (MENRO) will launch and conduct a SCUBAsurero: Reef and Coastal Cleanup every Saturday of September 2016 in the four (4) identified Barangay of Sta, Ana, Tanagan, Bagong Silang and Brgy. Hukay. SCUBAsurero means a group of divers or individual who voluntarily join and participate in the reef and coastal cleanup. SCUBAsurero which is a synchronized coastal and underwater cleanup in the 4 barangay will definitely heighten the awareness and consciousness of the community, encourage community attention and action on current environmental issues and concerns and promote behavioural change towards sustainable development.

In view of the foregoing, we are cordially inviting all divers to join in the SCUBAsurero on 4 saturday of September 2016. You can choose from which Barangay you would like to join. Let us continue to DO OUR SHARE for ONE EARTH… ONE CHANCE … ONE CHOICE!
